Chardelle Moore to Judge Swaliga Foundation’s Annual #STEAMtheBlock “Earth Day” Spring Derby

Chardelle Moore will serve as a judge at the Swaliga Foundation’s annual #STEAMtheBlock “Earth Day” Spring Derby Celebration, happening on April 23 at Ballou High School in Washington, D.C. This exciting event highlights youth-led creativity, innovation, and sustainability.

Founded by multidisciplinary visionary Lemond Brown, the Swaliga Foundation empowers Black and Brown youth around the world through STEAM education—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The organization is leading systemic change by delivering trauma-informed, hands-on learning experiences to underserved and underrepresented communities.

This year’s theme, Renewable Energy, will feature high school STEAM Club teams from across the region as they present their custom-built electric cars, showcasing innovative solutions in sustainable technology.

In addition to the electric car races, the celebration will include interactive STEAM stations, live performances, educational exhibits, giveaways, and sounds by DJ Stromin Norman, offering an inspiring and engaging experience for all.
